Είναι απόφοιτος της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Αριστοτέλειου Πανεπιστήμιου Θεσσαλονίκης με υποτροφία Ι.Κ.Υ. σε όλα τα έτη σπουδών λόγω άριστης επίδοσης. Κατόπιν ειδικών εξετάσεων E.C.F.M.G. και F.L.E.X.,το 1981, στις οποίες έλαβε «Άριστα», απέκτησε τα αντίστοιχα διπλώματα βάσει των οποίων έγινε δεκτός με υποτροφία για την ειδικότητα της Γενικής Χειρουργικής στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Πολιτειακού Πανεπιστημίου του Ohio (Ohio State University) των Η.Π.Α και στο Riverside Methodist Hospital του Columbus,Ohio. Στο τελευταίο έτος της ειδικότητας έλαβε τον τιμητικό τίτλο του «Chief Resident» (Επικεφαλής όλων των Ειδικευομένων). Στη συνέχεια το 1988 εκλέχτηκε Λέκτορας και αμέσως μετά το 1989, σε ηλικία 32 ετών, Επίκουρος Καθηγητής Χειρουργικής του ιδίου Πανεπιστημίου.
Το 1989, κατόπιν ειδικών εξετάσεων απέκτησε το δίπλωμα του American Board of Surgery και ανανέωσε τον τίτλο του κατόχου του διπλώματος αυτού το 1999 και το 2012 και πάλι κατόπιν εξετάσεων.
Διετέλεσε Διευθυντής της Χειρουργικής Κλινικής του Riverside Methodist Hospital, όπου χειρουργούσε και δίδασκε Γενική Χειρουργική, Χειρουργική με Laser και Λαπαροσκοπική Χειρουργική επί σειρά ετών. Παράλληλα ήταν υπεύθυνος για την εκπαίδευση των φοιτητών και των ειδικευομένων της Γενικής Χειρουργικής.
Συνολικά παρέμεινε στις ΗΠΑ 12 χρόνια. Κατέχει την άδεια ασκήσεως της Χειρουργικής στις ΗΠΑ, την οποία ανανεώνει ετησίως μετά από παρακολούθηση ειδικών μετεκπαιδευτικών σεμιναρίων και συνεδρίων στις ΗΠΑ.
Είναι Διδάκτωρ της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Δημοκρίτειου Πανεπιστήμιου.
Το 1991 επέστρεψε στην Αθήνα κατόπιν πρόσκλησης του Προέδρου του Ομίλου Ιατρικού Αθηνών κ. Γ. Αποστολόπουλου προκειμένου να αναλάβει τη δημιουργία, διεύθυνση και στελέχωση του τομέα της Λαπαροσκοπικής Χειρουργικής και εφαρμογών Laser, που για πρώτη φορά ιδρύθηκε στην Ελλάδα το ίδιο έτος. Το τμήμα το οποίο ίδρυσε και διευθύνει έκτοτε παρέχει σε τεράστιο αριθμό ασθενών από όλη την Ελλάδα αλλά και το εξωτερικό τις πιο σύγχρονες χειρουργικές τεχνικές όπως την Προχωρημένη Λαπαροσκοπική Χειρουργική με όλες, ανεξαρτήτως δυσκολίας, τις εφαρμογές της, τη Μικροχειρουργική (χειρουργική υπό μεγέθυνση), τη χειρουργική με Laser και με RF και τελευταία και τη Ρομποτική Χειρουργική.
Από τις αρχές του 2013 ανέλαβε την τιμητική θέση του Επιστημονικού Διευθυντή και Προέδρου της Επιστημονικής Επιτροπής του Ιατρικού και Παιδιατρικού Κέντρου Αθηνών.

Το 2011 εξελέγη ο πρώτος πρόεδρος της Επιστημονικής Εταιρείας Ρομποτικής Χειρουργικής Νοτιοανατολικής Ευρώπης (SEERSS).
Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος και πρώτος Πρόεδρος της Ελληνικής Επιστημονικής Εταιρείας Ρομποτικής Χειρουργικής.
Είναι μέλος του διοικητικού συμβουλίου της Διεθνούς Επιστημονικής Εταιρείας Ρομποτικής Χειρουργικής MIRA ( MINIMALLY INVASIVE ROBOTIC ASSOCIATION).
Είναι Αντιπρόεδρος του Ελληνικού Τμήματος του Αμερικανικού Κολλεγίου χειρουργών(GC-ACS).
Διετέλεσε Πρόεδρος της Ελληνικής Χειρουργικής Εταιρείας Παχυσαρκίας & Μεταβολικών Νόσων και Πρόεδρος της Επιστημονικής Εταιρείας του Ιατρικού Αθηνών.
Από το 2011 έως σήμερα είναι διευθυντής του προγράμματος Συνεχής Ιατρική Θεραπεία και Υποστήριξη(Continuous Medical Treatment and Support-CMTS) του Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital σε συνεργασία με το Ιατρικό Κέντρο Αθηνών.
Διετέλεσε μέλος Επιστημονικών και Οργανωτικών Επιτροπών σε πολλά συνέδρια που διοργανώθηκαν στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό και αφορούσαν την γενική, λαπαροσκοπική και ρομποτική χειρουργική.
Είναι μέλος 22 διεθνών επιστημονικών εταιρειών και 12 ελληνικών επιστημονικών εταιρειών.

Διοργάνωσε το 6ο Διεθνές Συνέδριο Ρομποτικής Χειρουργικής "MIRA ATHENS 2011" το οποίο διεξήχθη στην Αθήνα με απόλυτη επιτυχία.
Διοργάνωσε το 1ο συνέδριο του SEERSS στη Λεμεσσό Κύπρου τον Δεκέμβριο του 2012.
Έχει παρουσιάσει δεκάδες πρωτοποριακές εργασίες πάνω στη λαπαροσκοπική και ρομποτική χειρουργική σε πολλά διεθνή συνέδρια της Ελλάδος και του εξωτερικού που έλαβαν διακρίσεις και βραβεία.
Είναι από τους λίγους χειρουργούς διεθνώς που εφαρμόζουν νωρίς τις νέες τεχνολογίες στη χειρoυργική (early adopter). Το όνομά του συνδέεται με τις πρώτες λαπαροσκοπικές επεμβάσεις στην Ελλάδα, στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του ’90. Για πρώτη φορά στη χώρα μας πραγματοποίηθηκαν λαπαροσκοπικές επεμβάσεις από τον Δρ.Κωνσταντινίδη που περιλαμβάνουν:

Μέχρι σήμερα, με τους συνεργάτες του έχει πραγματοποιήσει περισσότερες από 12,000 λαπαροσκοπικές επεμβάσεις στο Ιατρικό Κέντρο Αθηνών.
Τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2000 εφήρμοσε για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα και την Νοτιοανατολική Ευρώπη τη χρήση ρομποτικού συστήματος εντός της χειρουργικής αίθουσας, με το σύστημα AESOP 3000 (Automated Endoscopic System for Optimal Positioning), έναν ρομποτικό βραχίονα που κρατούσε σταθερά τη λαπαροσκοπική κάμερα και υπάκουε σε φωνητικές εντολές.
Το 2006 ήταν ο πρώτος που χειρούργησε με το ρομποτικό σύστημα τηλεχειρουργικής da Vinci στην Ελλάδα. Έκτοτε έχει συγκεντρώσει τη μεγαλύτερη εμπειρία στη χώρα και μια από τις μεγαλύτερες διεθνώς στη Ρομποτική χειρουργική με περισσότερες από 800 επεμβάσεις. Το 2010 το Ιατρικό Κέντρο, λόγω των άριστων αποτελεσμάτων που παρουσίασε ο ίδιος και οι συνεργάτες του, επένδυσε στην αγορά του δεύτερου υπερσύγχρονου συστήματος Ρομποτικής Χειρουργικής da Vinci Si High Definition που αποτελεί και την τελευταία λέξη της αεροδιαστημικής ρομποτικής τεχνολογίας και με το οποίο χειρουργεί έκτοτε.
Για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα οι ακόλουθες ρομποτικές επεμβάσεις πραγματοποιήθηκαν από τον Δρ. Κωνσταντινίδη:

Όλες οι ανωτέρω επεμβάσεις έχουν ανακοινωθεί σε παγκόσμια συνέδρια.
Τον Μάρτιο του 2011 έκανε την πρώτη διεθνώς ρομποτική επέμβαση μέσω μίας τομής-Single Site Robotic Surgery. Η πρωτοπορία αυτή του ανατέθηκε από την κατασκευάστρια εταιρεία του da Vinci, την Intuitive Surgical,συγχρόνως με άλλους δύο χειρουργούς στην Ιταλία και Ελβετία. Ήδη αυτή την στιγμή έχει κάνει τον μεγαλύτερο αριθμό επεμβάσεων σε όλο τον κόσμο με την τεχνική της μίας μικροτομής. Πολλοί χειρουργοί τον επισκέπτονται από διάφορες χώρες στο Ιατρικό Κέντρο Αθηνών για να παρακολουθήσουν τις επεμβάσεις του και να εκπαιδευτούν
Ο Δρ.Κωνσταντινίδης συνεχίζει το εκπαιδευτικό του έργο με κάθε τρόπο σε όλες τις βαθμίδες εκπαίδευσης.
Επί χρόνια έχει αναλάβει την εκπαίδευση των Μεταπτυχιακών Φοιτητών της Φαρμακευτικής Σχολής Αθηνών στη Χειρουργική Κλινική (Εργαστήριο Βιοφαρμακευτικής-Φαρμακοκινητικής) στα πλαίσια της κλινικής πρακτικής του Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος Ειδίκευσης στην Κλινική Φαρμακευτική.
Σε εβδομαδιαία βάση επισκέπτονται την κλινική του ομάδες φοιτητών ιατρικής που τους δίνεται η δυνατότητα να παρακολουθήσουν τα μαθήματα της κλινικής καθώς και ζωντανές επεμβάσεις. Η κλινική του διατηρεί επαφή με την Επιστημονική Εταιρεία Φοιτητών Ιατρικής Ελλάδος (ΕΕΦΙΕ) και συμμετέχει κάθε χρόνο στο ετήσιο συνέδριό της με στρογγυλή τράπεζα και διαλέξεις. Έχει βοηθήσει πολλούς απόφοιτους ιατρικής να βρουν θέση ειδικότητας στην Αμερική.
Είναι συχνά προσκεκλημένος ομιλητής για να διδάξει στα εκπαιδευτικά σεμινάρια πολλών Πανεπιστημιακών και Δημοσίων Νοσοκομειακών Κέντρων της Ελλάδος και άλλων χωρών της Ευρώπης, της Αμερικής, αλλά και της Ασίας.

Παρέχει σε χειρουργούς και ιατρούς άλλων χειρουργικών ειδικοτήτων (Γυναικολόγους, Ουρολόγους, Θωρακοχειρουργούς, Καρδιοχειρουργούς, ΩΡΛ), τη δυνατότητα να παρακολουθήσουν όλο το φάσμα της Ελάχιστα Τραυματικής, Λαπαροσκοπικής και Ρομποτικής Χειρουργικής εντός της χειρουργικής αίθουσας. Πολλές δεκάδες Ελλήνων και αλλοδαπών χειρουργών έχουν εκπαιδευτεί στη Λαπαροσκοπική και Ρομποτική Χειρουργική από τον ίδιο.
Πολλές επεμβάσεις του ρομποτικής χειρουργικής μεταδίδονται ζωντανά από τον χειρουργική του αίθουσα και τις παρακολουθούν γιατροί από όλο τον κόσμο.
Από τα πρώτα χρόνια της δεκαετίας του ’90 έως σήμερα έχει διοργανώσει επανειλημμένως μεταπτυχιακά σεμινάρια εκπαίδευσης Λαπαροσκοπικής και Ρομποτικής Χειρουργικής και συμμετείχε ενεργά ως διδάσκων χειρουργός στις πρώτες λαπαροσκοπικές επεμβάσεις στα εξής νοσοκομεία:
• Πανεπιστημιακό Νοσοκομείο Ηρακλείου Κρήτης.
• Βενιζέλειο Νοσοκομείο Ηρακλείου Κρήτης.
• Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο Σούδας.

Ο κ. Κ. Κωνσταντινίδης και οι συνεργάτες του πραγματοποίησαν για πρώτη φορά λαπαροσκοπικές επεμβάσεις στο Νοσοκομείο της Γάζας στην Παλαιστίνη το 1995 όπου κατόπιν πρόσκλησης δίδαξε στους Παλαιστίνιους Χειρουργούς βασικές αρχές για την απλή αλλά και την προχωρημένη λαπαροσκοπική χειρουργική. Κατά την διάρκεια της παραμονής της ομάδος του στην Γάζα έκανε μεγάλο αριθμό επεμβάσεων και έλαβε τιμητικό δίπλωμα από τον πρόεδρο Γιασέρ Αραφάτ.
Το 2003 κατόπιν πρόσκλησης του Υπουργείο Υγείας της Γιουγκοσλαβίας, δίδαξε προχωρημένη λαπαροσκοπική χειρουργική στο Κεντρικό Νοσοκομείο του Βελιγραδίου. Τα σεμινάρια, που διοργάνωσε η Πανεπιστημιακή Κλινική, παρακολούθησαν 300 χειρουργοί από όλο το κράτος και ο κ Κ.Κωνσταντινίδης με τους συνεργάτες του πραγματοποίησαν μεγάλο αριθμό λαπαροσκοπικών επεμβάσεων όπως αποκατάσταση διαφραγματοκήλης, κοιλιοκήλης, βουβωνοκήλης, αχαλασίας οισοφάγου και άλλες επεμβάσεις άνω και κάτω κοιλιάς. Σημειωτέον δε ότι όλη η υλικοτεχνική υποδομή πού μετεφέρθη από το Ιατρικό Αθηνών και τον ίδιον για την ασφαλή διεκπεραίωση των επεμβάσεων δωρίστηκε στη Χειρουργική Πανεπιστημιακή Κλινική του Νοσοκομείου Βελιγραδίου.
Από το 1991 δίδαξε στα πλαίσια συνεδρίων και σεμιναρίων συναδέλφους του στην Κύπρο και πραγματοποίησε πολλές φορές δύσκολες λαπαροσκοπικές επεμβάσεις σε ζωντανή μετάδοση Το 2005 στο Νοσοκομείο της Λάρνακας δίδαξε και πραγματοποίησε λαπαροσκοπικές επεμβάσεις για τη Νοσογόνο Παχυσαρκία.
Το 2008 πραγματοποίησε τις πρώτες επεμβάσεις Ρομποτικής Χειρουργικής στη Ρουμανία, στο νοσοκομείο Fudeni στο Βουκουρέστι, ως επίσημος εκπαιδευτής της Intuitive Surgical (international proctor). Έκτοτε συμμετέχει ενεργά στις επιστημονικές εκδηλώσεις του Πανεπιστημιακού αυτού νοσοκομείου με διαλέξεις του. Πολλοί Ρουμάνοι χειρουργοί παρακολουθούν συχνά τις επεμβάσεις του.
To 2013 πραγματοποίησε τις πρώτες επεμβάσεις Ρομποτικής Χειρουργικής στη Σόφια της Βουλγαρίας, στο νοσοκομείο Doverie.
Έχει αφιερώσει εξαιρετικά μεγάλο μέρος των δραστηριοτήτων στην ενημέρωση ιατρών, φοιτητών, μαθητών καθώς και του ευρύτερου κοινού στις εφαρμογές της μοντέρνας τεχνολογίας στη χειρουργική, ταξιδεύοντας συχνά, σε όλα τα μέρη της Ελλάδας.
Το όνομά του περιλαμβάνεται στο WHO’S WHO in Health and Medical Services από το 2001 έως σήμερα.
Τον ελεύθερο χρόνο του τον περνά με την οικογένειά του. Η σύζυγός του Μαριλένα Βλάχου είναι Επίκουρη Καθηγήτρια της Φαρμακευτικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Έχουν δύο παιδιά την Σοφία και τον Μιχάλη. Η κόρη του είναι φοιτήτρια φαρμακευτικής στο King's College του Λονδίνου και ο γιός του είναι μαθητής λυκείου.
Αγαπά πολύ την Κάρπαθο και Ρόδο και πάντα χαίρεται να διασκεδάζει με την νησιώτικη μουσική και χορούς, να δημιουργεί και να τραγουδά μαντινάδες.

*Σύμφωνα με τις διατάξεις του άρθρου 19 παρ. 2 και 3 του Κώδικα Ιατρικής Δεοντολογίας (Ν. 3418/2005) ο ιατρός μπορεί να παρέχει τις υπηρεσίες του χωρίς αμοιβή ή με μειωμένη αμοιβή σε ειδικές κατηγορίες ασθενών, με βάση κριτήρια, που είναι κοινωνικώς πρόσφορα, παραδεκτά και σύμφωνα με το βαθύτερο ανθρωπιστικό χαρακτήρα του ιατρικού επαγγέλματος. Επίσης ιατρός παρέχει τις υπηρεσίες του χωρίς αμοιβή στους συναδέλφους του και στους συγγενείς προς τους οποίους αυτοί έχουν νόμιμη υποχρέωση, καθώς και στους φοιτητές της ιατρικής. Η αναγραφή ποσοστού έκπτωσης ή ειδικών προσφορών ανήκουν στη διακριτική ευχέρεια του ιατρού. Αναζήτηστε πληροφορίες στο προφίλ του.

**Σύμφωνα με την σύμβαση που έχουν οι ιδιώτες ιατροί με τον ΕΟΠΥΥ, υποχρεούνται να δέχονται στο ιδιωτικό τους ιατρείο όλες τις ημέρες της εβδομάδας τους ασθενείς του ΕΟΠΥΥ και να τους εξετάζουν, να συνταγογραφούν και να παραπεμπτικογραφούν εντελώς δωρεάν μέχρι του αριθμού των 200 ασθενών τον μήνα. Ρωτήστε τον ιατρό σας με εμαιλ ή τηλέφωνο εκ των προτέρων για το εάν θα υπάρχει οικονομική επιβάρυνση (εάν έχει συμπληρώσει το πλαφόν). Οι συμβεβλημένοι γιατροί του ΕΟΠΥΥ δεν δικαιούνται καμία επιπλέον αμοιβή από τους δικαιούχους, για τους πρώτους 50 ασθενείς που εξετάζουν κάθε εβδομάδα και για τους 200 του μήνα.
